European Scanning Centre will be one of the first centres in the UK to offer patients advanced diagnostic scanning with our brand new, state-of-the-art, Aquilion One PRISM Edition CT scanner.
Our two million pound investment in the PRISM Edition scanner will offer clinical specialists and patients exceptional quality diagnostic imaging, supporting specialty areas such as cardiac, gastro, urology and neurology. The new scanner is available for appointments from Monday18th January 2021.
The sophisticated new scanner was lifted high above Harley Street on 12th December 2020, then carefully lowered by experts, through a small gap between neighbouring buildings, into its permanent home in the centre’s basement.
In addition to the installation of the Aquilion One PRISM Edition, the a custom designed phlebotomy room has been built and the CT department has undergone a full refurbishment, with custom built cupboards, new flooring and walls, to ensure a safe, clinical space for everyone.
"We are thrilled to be able to offer our specialists and patients access to the revolutionary new Aquilion One PRISM Edition CT scanner,” says Stuart Emerson, Centre Manager at ESC London.
“This investment allows us to provide faster appointment availability and quicker scan times in a safer environment. The upgrade significantly compliments our existing imaging suite, and enabling us to offer an extensive high-quality imaging service; backed up by our ethos of exceptional customer service and technical excellence. Watching the scanner being lifted above the iconic Harley Street skyline was an incredible moment.”
The PRISM is the latest advance in hybrid iterative reconstruction technology. This technique is incorporated into each scanning protocol, reducing dose and improving contrast and detail resolution.
"This is a very exciting time for European Scanning Centre and we cannot wait to begin scanning patients on our brand new PRISM" says Christelle Botha, Clinical Lead.
