Sinuses scan      £450
Do I need a sinus scan?
Sinusitus, inflammation of the sinuses (air spaces) within the bones of the face, is a common but debilitating condition. X-rays can detect severe cases but an EBCT scan will show signs of disease at a much earlier stage. It is better than MRI for detecting inflammation or polyps on the nose or sinuses. You may consider a scan if you suffer from one of the following:
  • Unexplained loss of sense of smell (anosmia)
  • Unexplained facial pain or headaches
  • Symptoms suggestive of sinusitis
  • Recurrent symptoms after previous nasal or sinus surgery
Do I need to prepare for the scan?
There is no preparation for the scan.

The actual time you spend in the scanner is about 10 minutes. Further details can be found in the Your Visit section.
